THOMASVILLE, Ga.-- A South Georgia humane society has now lowered the price for adoptions, hoping to solve a shelter's overcrowding problem.

The adoption fee for dogs and cats is usually $100 at the Thomasville-Thomas County Humane Society but this week the fee is $50, which includes spaying or neutering and vaccinations.

The society's executive director Ed Williams says over the past couple of weeks, they've had a large number of animals being dropped off at the shelter. Now they're bursting at the seams. He says they're doing whatever they can to find a good home for the animals so they don't have to be euthanized.
