SIESTA KEY FL (WWSB) - A follow up now on a python found swimming near a boat dock on Siesta Key.
The Yellow Reticular Python will be euthanized. Justin Matthews of "Matthews Wildlife Rescue" says Florida Fish and Wildlife picked up the snake Thursday.
He said because of the type of snake, and concerns for public safety, F-W-C decided to both seize the reptile and put it down.
Wildlife officers believe the reptile was a pet and has launched an investigation to find out who released it into the wild.
