TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - In the aftermath of Hurricane Michael, many in Tallahassee and the surrounding areas want to know what they can do, how they can volunteer, or donate to help those in need.
Volunteer Florida is the lead agency for volunteerism and national service in Florida. It promotes volunteerism to meet critical needs across the state.
Sort of a one stop shop for people who want to help. They connect potential volunteers to legitimate organizations.
To sign up to volunteer just go their website.
"If you go on our website and click on the volunteer button right there, you'll answer a few questions for us so we can answer some of your skill sets and connect you with the best opportunities to serve in the affected area," said David Mica Jr., CEO of Volunteer Florida.
If you are looking for donation and other opportunities, Volunteer Florida also runs the Disaster Recovery Fund where they accept donations from corporate partners and individuals. That button is also on their website.
They say they use the funds with their partners to help those in affected areas.
