Homerville Police Chief Dies

HOMERVILLE, Ga. (WTXL)--The Homerville police chief has died.

Chief Mark Register passed away Tuesday at Clinch County Memorial Hospital.

He was battling cancer. He became chief of the Homerville Police Department in January 2002. He was also a member of the Georgia Police Chief's Association and Cornerstone Baptist Church.

His funeral is Saturday at 2 p.m. at Cornerstone Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends this Friday from 6-9 p.m. at Roundtree Funeral Home

The police department says he'll be greatly missed.
