TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — Florida's Republican Senate primary is getting more crowded.

Manatee County homebuilder Carlos Beruff has entered the race, joining four other major GOP candidates seeking to replace Republican Sen. Marco Rubio.

Beruff will make his announcement Monday morning in Miami, followed by an event in Sarasota that afternoon. But he's already set up a campaign account and produced a two-minute video explaining why he's running.

The video shows him introducing himself to voters and explaining why he's running. That's something he'll have to do a lot more of, since he's never run for office before.

Also seeking the seat Rubio is giving up to run for president are Orlando businessman Todd Wilcox, Lt. Gov. Carlos Lopez-Cantera and U.S. Reps. David Jolly and Ron DeSantis
