TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL)-- The American Homebrewers Association held a rally Sunday to celebrate "the art of homebrewing."
They gathered at Proof Brewing Company. The rally featured a VIP tour of the newly constructed Proof brewery, beer samples, gifts and prizes. Attendees were encouraged to bring their best homebrew to share with guests, something that brewers tell us helps them connect and learn from each other.
"I think the part of the fun of home brewing is being around like-minded people," said Tyler Towne, a homebrewer. "I've met a lot of interesting people from all walks of life. As a homebrewer, there's professors, there's economists, there's mechanics and engineers-- all sorts of really interesting people that are really passionate about not only making beer, but also being artistic with their craft and having something they really like to do."
The American Homebrewers Association hosts a series of rallies across the country to give homebrewers the chance to connect with other beer enthusiasts and homebrewers in their area.
