Home Owner Barely Escapes Tallahassee House Fire

TALLAHASSEE, FL. (WTXL) - The Tallahassee Fire Department responds to a house fire on Ocklocknee Road.

Crews were dispatched at 6:48p.m. Monday night to a structure fire in the 5100 block of Ochlocknee Rd. The first arriving units found heavy smoke coming from a residential structure. Crews were able to quickly extinguish the fire that started in the kitchen. 

Firefighters say, the homeowner was at home at the time of the fire and was able to escape. He was treated and released on scene by TFD Paramedics. 

TFD says, fire caused approximately $50,000 in damages. 

TFD was assisted on scene by the Lake Jackson Volunteer Fire Department and Talquin Electric.
