TALLAHASSEE, Fl. (WTXL) -- The holidays are coming. That means holiday shopping and stores are hiring to match the increase in demand.
This increase in sales and jump in employee numbers helps boost the local economy.
"Anytime the Holiday season comes around, it's a really great time because it means more Tallahassee residents are being employed. And because they're being employed, it means more money in the economy, more money for local businesses that support these employees. Overall its just a win-win for the community," said James Miller of the Greater Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce.
Miller also says that these temporary positions can turn into full-time opportunities, and that can help strengthen the economy for the long-term.
