ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) - The Florida Supreme Court has approved a report recommending discipline for a high-profile attorney.
The state' high court earlier this month approved a report recommending a public reprimand for Christopher Chestnut.
Chestnut was the attorney for the family of FAMU drum major Robert Champion, who died following a hazing incident.
He also was one of the attorneys for the widow of a longtime smoker who won a $23.6 billion judgment against R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. last year.
The report recommends that Chestnut be reprimanded for violating Florida Bar rules related to providing clients information and explaining matters to clients.
The violations came from a case in which a woman claimed her wrongful death case was dismissed because of inaction by Chestnut.
Chestnut didn't respond to an email and phone call.
