GADSDEN COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - On Tuesday, March 18, 2014, A Gadsden County Grand Jury returned a first degree murder indictment against 23-year old Troumaine Harris from Havana, Florida for allegedly killing 22-year old Lotoya Maine.
The State Attorney's Office says on September 10, 2013, Maine's burnt body was found next to her burnt car near McNair Road, north of Havana. She was reported missing by her family earlier that day. Her death was ruled a homicide. Maine and Harris have a child together but were no longer a couple.
Harris denied involvement but prosecutors say he was found with burns on his face and hands, and they say DNA linked him to the crime.
Harris is set to be arraigned on April 8, 2014.
