DAWSON, Ga. (WALB) - In Southwest Georgia one town discovered they'll have one less grocery store within the next three months.
Southeastern Grocers also announcing Thursday they will close the Harvey's Supermarket in Dawson.
Within the next three months, this Harvey's Supermarket on South Main Street in Dawson will no longer be open, according to its owner, Southeastern Grocers.
The company announced Thursday it would be closing this store and 93 other under performing stores across Georgia and six other states.Southeastern grocers says this is all part of a financial restructuring process.
This will now leave Dawson with only two grocery stores, the Piggly Wiggly and Brumby Foods.
A resident told me this will have a huge economic impact on the area. He also says a majority of the town does their shopping at this store.
