TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Famous Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling is sending a signed book collection to a local single father named Matt Burke.
It all started when Burke wrote a blog post about his life experience of being homeless, raising a child and still aspiring to be a writer. In a tweet about the blog, he mentioned how Rowling's Harry Potter series changed his life.
The tweet went viral and Rowling responded, telling Burke she will be sending him and his daughter a signed Harry Potter collection.
"It shows not only that there's still some positivity flowing around in the world and they're still some good people out there but somebody with her kind of platform with the numbers she is pulling to be able to go through her tweets and to be able to look at what her fans are saying to her and saying about her and kind of just the communication level she has with her fans is just huge for somebody on her level," said Burke.
Burke says he'll be receiving the signed books sometime next week.
