COLUMBIA COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - The Florida Highway Patrol reports on a fatal car crash happening on Tuesday, August 1 at approximately 11:30 a.m. on U.S. 90, 1000 East of Faith Road.
Troopers say William Rudd was leaving the Harbor Freight parking lot on U.S. 90 when he pulled out in front of a pick-up truck.
According to authorities, the truck hit the left side of Rudd's SUV and then spun into another car's camper trailer.
Law enforcement says debris form that trailer then hit another car, damaging its left side.
Rudd was pronounced dead at the scene.
His passenger Virginia Rudd was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
No other injuries were reported.
