Hamilton County Crash Leaves One Dead, One Injured

JENNINGS, FL (WTXL) - One woman is dead and another man is seriously injured after a crash in Hamilton County Thursday night.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, 26-year-old Christopher Tumblin ran a stop sign at the intersection of County Road 152 and County Road 143 in Jennings around 11 p.m. Thursday. A pickup truck then hit the right side of Tumblin's car where 31-year-old Lakevia Penn was a passenger. 

Penn was airlifted to UF Health Hospital where she later died, troopers said. Tumblin was transported to South Georgia Medical Center with serious injuries.

According to FHP, neither Tumblin nor Penn were wearing their seat belts.

The two passengers in the pickup truck were not injured, troopers said.

FHP said charges are still pending.
