COOPERSTOWN, N.Y. (AP) - Hall of Famers Rollie Fingers, Tom Glavine, Phil Niekro and Ozzie Smith are returning to Doubleday Field for the annual Hall of Fame Classic.
They'll be joined by recently retired players representing all 30 major-league teams for a seven-inning legends game on Saturday, May 23 in Cooperstown, New York. First pitch is slated for 2:05 p.m.
Niekro and Smith return as team captains and managers, and two other Hall of Famers will serve as coaches.
Players already committed to appear include former Dodgers star Ron Cey, Alan Trammell of the Tigers, Travis Fryman of the Indians, Jacque Jones of the Twins, Roy Oswalt of the Astros, Kerry Robinson of the St. Louis Cardinals, Aaron Rowand of the White Sox, and Dan Wheeler of the Rays.
Full rosters will be announced in the spring.
