CECIL, Ga. (WALB) - The Georgia State Patrol has officially identified the man who was killed after being struck by a train this morning in Cook County.
Georgia State Patrol has identified that man as 29-year-old Anthony Miller who was believed to be walking alongside the window tracks when he was struck by the train.
Trooper Damien Serrata tells us that he believes that Miller was disoriented and wandering in the wrong direction after his initial accident of him crashing his car into a ditch.
We also spoke with Cook County Sheriff's Office and they say that it is legal to walk on these railroad tracks and wants to remind community members to be vigilant.
We reached out to Norfolk Southern Railway Company and they have not responded just yet.
