NORCROSS, Ga. (AP) — Gwinnett County police are searching for a shooter who fired at an officer at a Norcross apartment complex.
Department spokeswoman Michele Pihera said in a statement that an officer was responding to a reported robbery at the Ashford Jackson Creek apartments when shots were fired Monday afternoon. Police say the suspect fired at the officer after being told to drop the weapon and fled the scene on foot. Authorities say no injuries have been reported.
The suspect is described as a black man between 5'10 and 6'1 who weighs about 200 pounds and has short hair. Police say he was last seen wearing a dark Braves baseball hat, a zip-up hoodie over a white shirt and blue jeans.
