TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) -- Officials are saying a weekend event to help cut down on crime in the Capital City was a success.

The National Organization for Black Law Enforcement Executives - or NOBLE -hosted a gun buy back at two Tallahassee locations this weekend.

The program collected 61 weapons between Friday and Saturday. That's nearly 20 more guns than the last buy back in 2012.

NOBLE officials tell us they're thankful for the community support, and hope we'll soon see the positive impact of this program.
