TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) - An arts organization announced that it has awarded just under $1 million to 20 local non-profit arts and cultural organizations.
The Council on Culture & Arts (COCA) announced that it has awarded just under $1 million to African Caribbean Dance Theater, Challenger Learning Center, and the Artist Series of Tallahassee among 17 others.
COCA said that it distributes this money on the behalf of the City of Tallahassee and Leon County to arts and culture organizations that contribute to the quality of life and tourism industry in Leon County.
“Our arts and culture organizations are a vital part of the local economy. These organizations help to promote Tallahassee and Leon County as a world-class community to live, work, and visit,” said Kevin Carr, COCA’s Grant Programs Manager. “We are fortunate to have so many extraordinary year-round arts and cultural offerings.”
In order to apply for grant funding through COCA, eligible organizations must be a non-profit and have been providing year-round arts or cultural programming in their discipline for at least three complete years.
