TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL)-- Ground breaking is set for a new homeless shelter in Tallahassee.
City leaders announced plans for a ceremony on Wednesday, February 19. It will be at the corner of Dupree and Pensacola Street.
The shelter is called a "Comprehensive Emergency Services Center." It will be open 24 hours for residents and provide medical services. The new facility is expected to be open for business by December 2014. At that time, the current shelter on Tennessee Street will close.
