GRETNA, Fla. (WTXL) - Don't let eggnog get you pulled over! Law enforcement officials are reminding people to drive sober.

The Gretna Police Department is on the look out this holiday season for drunk drivers as part of their Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign.

GPD Capitan Ismael Villegas said that starting Dec. 16 until the new year, folks may see more law enforcement on the streets looking for impaired drivers.

Villegas adds they have zero tolerance for drunk driving.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said from 2011-2015, more than 14,000 people lost their lives in motor vehicle traffic crashes during the month of December.

28 percent of those that died were in a crash that involved a driver with a blood alcohol content of .08 or higher.
