JACKSON Co., FL (WTXL) - A man is in custody after deputies say he sexually abused a minor and then tried to flee the county.
According to the Jackson County Sheriff's Office, Eglon Hussey of Greenwood was arrested and charged with sexual battery and possession of a controlled substance on Friday.
Deputies say they were contacted by a minor in Bay County who said she had been sexually abused by Hussey before she moved out of the county.
The Sheriff's Office says they received an arrest warrant for the man but soon discovered he was attempting to avoid his arrest and possible leave the county.
They say he had even changed his cell phone number and quit his job.
Once he was found and arrested, deputies say they also found a small container of meth in his bedroom.
