MADISON COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - Authorities in Madison County have arrested a man accused of shooting his step-father.

The Madison County Sheriff's Office says they were called to S&J Deli Tuesday afternoon about a man who had been shot.

When they arrived to the Greenville store, they found a male victim suffering from a single gunshot wound.

While the victim was being treated, deputies learned the shooting happened at a home on N. W. Haffye Drive in Greenville and that the victim drove himself to the S & J Deli to get help.

The victim told deputies that his step-son, Deshaun Mutch, had shot him and provided investigators with a description of the car Mutch left the scene in.

Later on, a vehicle matching the description was found in Madison and stopped by law enforcement. Mutch was identified as one of the passengers in the car and was arrested.

The case is still under investigation.

If anyone has any information regarding this incident they are asked to contact Lieutenant Investigator Doug Haskell with the Madison County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division at 850-973-4152.

Mutch has been charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.
