LAKE PARK, Ga. (WTXL)--Grassy Pond is now open to the public.
The recreation area is an affiliate of Moody Air Force Base. For the past few decades Grassy Pond has catered to military personnel, retirees, and their family members.
Now non-military military members can take advantage.
The U.S. Air Force approved Moody’s request to grant public access to the facility to build community relations.
This 500-acre area is similar to a state park. There are tent and RV sites. There are group shelters, a boating area, nature trails, and grills.
Park entry is $5 per vehicle.
