TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) - A Leon County grand jury has indicted Sigfredo Garcia and Luis Rivera for the 2014 murder of Florida State University law professor Dan Markel.
Garcia was arrested on Wednesday, May 25 by the Hallandale Beach Police Department and was extradited to Tallahassee.
Soon after the extradition, previously unsealed court documents were released, naming another co-defendant in the case, Luis Rivera.
Those documents also show that police believe the motive for Markel's murder was his ex-wife's family wanted her and their children to move to south Florida with them.
