VALDOSTA, Ga. (WTXL)--The date could be nearing for when a grand jury hands down an indictment against a man accused of murdering a Valdosta State University student.
Darien Meheux is in the Lowndes County Jail charged with murder. Prosecutors say they are now reviewing the case.
They say the it could be presented to a grand jury possibly in May or June. Meheux is accused of killing Jasmine Benjamin. Investigators say her cause of death was asphyxiation.
