SOUTH GEORGIA (WTXL) - College graduation continues this weekend in South Georgia.
Close to 400 students turned their tassels in Thomas County for the university's commencement ceremonies. Both undergraduate and graduate students crossed the stage this morning in the Ben Grace Historical Quadrangle.
This year's commencement speaker was Dr. Gary Bonvillian who served as TU's president since 2006. Bonvillian will be retiring on June 30th.
Meanwhile convocation ceremonies were held throughout the day in Valdosta. Graduates at Valdosta State University received a special memento as they walked across the stage. Events were also held after the ceremonies for families to meet with faculty members and other students.
