TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL)- Florida Governor Rick Scott has announced that his new 2014 budget proposal includes $325 million for aviation improvements.

As a whole, the "It's Your Money Tax Cut Budget" provides a record $8.8 billion for the Florida Department of Transportation to make transportation improvements throughout the state.

“This year, our ‘It's Your Money Tax Cut Budget,’ invests in transportation projects to further strengthen our world-class transportation system and enable Florida to be a global hub for trade and commerce," said Scott.  "These improvements will create more jobs and opportunities for Florida families, and because aviation is a vital industry in Florida I am recommending nearly $325 million for aviation improvements.”

Due to Scott's investment in aviation, FDOT will be able to help fund major aviation projects in Florida.

Some of those major projects include Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport, Miami International Airport, Pensacola International Airport and Melbourne International Airport.
