Governor Rick Scott is Open to Casino Expansion

TALLAHASSEE, FL. (WTXL) - Newly released documents are showing that Governor Rick Scott was open to a big deal with the Seminole Indian Tribe.

The documents show that Scott was willing to let the tribe add Roulette and Craps at its South Florida casinos. The same documents also show he was willing to let the tribe build a casino on its Fort Pierce Reservation. In exchange, the state would receive $2 billion. However, the dealSouth Florida casinos was met with opposition from state legislators last spring and was never finalized.

The documents were released just in time for election day where Scott hopes to show that he is open to supporting gambling expansion.

According to the sunlight foundation, a non partisan nonprofit, the Seminoles donated nearly $1.7 million to the Republican Party of Florida.
