TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Governor Rick Scott and First Lady Ann Scott participated in the ceremonious lighting of the official 2012 Cabinet Christmas tree with Commissioner Adam Putnam, Attorney General Pam Bondi, and CFO Jeff Atwater.

Governor Scott said, “Christmas is the time of year where Florida families gather together to celebrate the year’s blessings. As Ann and I celebrate the season with our daughters, and our grandson, Auguste, we also wish each Florida family a happy and safe Christmas season.”

In addition to the tree presentation, First Lady Ann Scott also placed the inaugural 2012 ornament on this year’s tree. This year’s ornament is the 10th in the La Florida First in Discoveries holiday ornament series.

Sigrid and Franco Camancho, of Tallahassee-based Bavarian Christmas Tree Farm, also attended the ceremony. This is the second year that the Camanchos’ farm has supplied the Cabinet Christmas tree. There are close to 14,000 Christmas trees harvested each year in Florida, and as debuted at the ceremony, the Carolina Sapphire tree is one of only six types of trees that are grown in Florida.
