TAMPA, Fla. — Gov. Ron DeSantis made an announcement in Tampa on Wednesday afternoon regarding Florida's workforce education.
The Governor spoke at Tampa Bay Technical High School, where he issued an executive order.
He's ordered an audit of Florida's Career and Technical Education program to make sure it's in line with the current demands of the labor market, including high growth, high demand, and high wage employment opportunities.
"We want to be nimble, we want to be responsive to how the economy changes," said Gov. DeSantis. "We're in an era where there's a lot of rapid change in the economy."
The Governor said Florida is currently ranked 24th in the country for workforce education.
