VALDOSTA, Ga. (WTXL) - State Rep. Brad Raffensperger (R-Johns Creek), Republican candidate for Secretary of State of Georgia, will visit Valdosta for a meet and greet on Monday.

Rep. Raffensperger faces David Belle Isle in the GOP primary runoff election on July 24.

State Sen. Ellis Black and State Representatives, John Corbett, John LaHood, and Jason Shaw are hosting the Meet and Greet event for the candidate at Austin’s Cattle Company.

Raffensperger is a member of the Georgia House of Representatives representing District 50 and formerly served on the Johns Creek (Ga) City Council. He was first elected to the House in a special election in 2015.

His committee assignments include Energy, Utilities and Telecommunications, Insurance, and Juvenile Justice.

With a background in engineering, general contracting, and running a manufacturing business, Raffensperger believes he can help make Georgia more business friendly.

"I have seen first-hand just how easy some states make it to do business, while other states make it hard," said Raffensperger. "As Secretary of State, I will work to ensure Georgia is a friendly place to bring new business."

The Meet and Greet will be held at Austin’s Cattle Company on Monday, July 9, from 5pm to 7pm. Attendance is free but donations will be accepted. Light appetizers will be served. The public is invited.

Austin’s is located at 2101 W. Hill Ave, Valdosta, Georgia at the Kinderlou Inn (I-75 and US 84).
