TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL)-- If you haven’t mailed your holiday packages yet, you have until Saturday to make sure they are delivered in time. WTXL’s Jade Bulecza shows us how one business is reaping the benefits of the busy shipping season.

Goin’ Postal opened in 2009. The owner, Mike Sullivan says that business is looking up. “As far as shipping, it looks like we’ve come a little bit out of the economic doldrums.” The holiday season is what Sullivan says his business depends on. “It really makes up a good 30-35 percent of our annual sales within one month here.”

It’s the busiest time of the year in the shipping industry. In fact, it’s so busy that Sullivan hires seasonal employees to help manage the demand. “We hire seasonal help for this time of year. It’s good for helping to employ the community.”

Sullivan’s advice to those who are packaging their own gifts is to make sure you have at least two inches of cushioning on each side of the box.

You have until Saturday to ship your packages to arrive in time for Christmas but keep in mind the sooner you ship, the cheaper it is.
