VALDOSTA, Ga. (WTXL)--A vitamins and minerals store is robbed at gunpoint in Valdosta.
Officers with the Valdosta Police Department say Sunday around 1:30 in the afternoon, an employee of GNC, went inside the business on Bemiss Road and two men followed him. They asked him about some products in the store. He said one of the men pulled out a handgun and demanded money from the register.
The victim gave the men money. He said the men forced him into a bathroom where he was tied up with his belt.
The pair of robbers threatened to harm him if he told the police this happened. They're described as 5 feet 10 inches tall and 140 pounds. One was wearing a white T-shirt and gray pants and had the handgun. The two offenders also stole personal items. A customer who came into the store did not see any employees and heard a voice coming from the back room.
She found the victim tied up in the bathroom. The customer freed him and immediately called 911.
Valdosta Police Department detectives and crime scene personnel responded to the incident. Detectives are canvassing the area for witnesses and possible surveillance video.
