TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) -- Tallahassee Mayor Andrew Gillum met with local leaders on Monday, about ways to improve the application process for government positions.
Mayor Gillum suggested those who are interested not be asked about their criminal history when they first apply.
That would give more applicants an opportunity to be interviewed, instead of automatically declined because of their past.
Among those involved in the discussion was Leon County Chair Mary Ann Lindley.
This was first meeting between Lindley and Mayor Gillum since he took office last month.
