GADSDEN CO., Fla. -- Officials with the Gadsden County Health Department are encouraging residents to adopt healthy lifestyle habits through their annual Get Going Gadsden campaign.
The event is a 60 day, county-wide health competition that focuses on increasing physical activity and good eating habits to maintain a healthy weight. City leaders and residents are encouraged to participate. The challenge will begin July 1 and end on August 31.
To kick off the competition, there will be a press conference on Thursday, May 30, at the Pat Thomas Law Enforcement Academy. The event begins at 11:30 a.m., and the public is invited to attend.
The contest and Thursday's events are free.
