MARIETTA, Ga. (AP) — Cobb County prosecutors say a woman has been sentenced to life in prison for a shooting after an argument outside an apartment complex.

District Attorney's spokeswoman Kim Isaza says 23-year-old Sparkles Lashayla Lindsey of Austell pleaded guilty Tuesday to murder, aggravated assault and weapons charges in the Oct. 2013 shooting death of Kimberly Faith Kilgore. Kilgore was a student at Kennesaw State University.

Prosecutors say Lindsey and Kilgore's friends were involved in an argument outside an apartment complex and Lindsey fired into Kilgore's car at close range, fatally wounding her. Police have said the initial argument was linked to road rage.

Prosecutors say Kilgore was driving her friends away from the confrontation and she wasn't involved in the argument.
