WORTH COUNTY, Ga. (WTXL) - New questions are being asked about whether the Worth County Sheriff took his badge too far by trying to intervene in a police interview following his son's arrest.
At least one district attorney thinks so.
In a letter to Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal's office, District Attorney Paul Bowden described an incident involving Sheriff Jeff Hobby and the GBI on October 9.
The new allegation comes as the sheriff is being investigated for a controversial drug search at Worth County High School earlier this year.
The GBI investigator says he ended the interview after the incident since he was in the sheriff's jail.
The district attorney's letter to the governor says the interview, along with the sheriff's interruption, are recorded.
As of Friday morning, Zack Hobby is out of the jail on bond.
