COLUMBUS, Ga. (AP) - A Georgia grand jury says no criminal investigation is warranted into a deadly police shooting at Columbus State University.
Grand jurors voted Tuesday against recommending a criminal review of the killing.
The Columbus Ledger-Enquirer (http://bit.ly/1lvtHYC ) reports the decision ends any criminal probe into the shooting death of Zikarious Flint by police Sgt. Ben Scott in March 2014.
Flint was visiting on campus when police received a call about a man who was seen loading a gun near a field.
Authorities say the 20-year-old man ran when police arrived, and he was shot twice after allegedly raising a gun toward two officers who were chasing him.
A loaded pistol was found beside Flint, who later died.
An attorney for Flint's relatives says they are disappointed with the grand jury's decision.
