MACON, Ga. (AP) - A Macon man has been sentenced to life in prison for his role in carjacking that led to a fatal shooting.

The Telegraph of Macon reports 23-year-old Justin Terrell Grable was sentenced Monday and agreed to testify against his co-defendant who was the alleged shooter.

Authorities say 38-year-old Kimberly McKenzie was carjacked in January of 2011 and was shot in her leg. Authorities say McKenzie was wounded in her femoral artery and bled to death.

Prosecutors initially sought the death penalty against Grable, but his mental capacity made him ineligible for the punishment.
