GAINESVILLE, Ga. (AP) - An emergency room doctor from Georgia was among those assisting victims of the Boston Marathon bombing moments after the blasts.
Allan Panter of Gainesville was waiting for his wife Theresa to cross the marathon finish line on Monday when a bomb went off about 30 feet away from him.
Panter is the emergency room director at a North Carolina hospital, and he got to work helping victims within seconds.
Panter tells The Times of Gainesville he was no different than other witnesses who tried to help out after the blasts.
Among the people Panter helped was 29-year-old Krystle Campbell, who later died. Panter also treated a man who lost both legs in the bombing.
