SAVANNAH, Ga. (AP) — The daughter of a Vermont man killed by a hit-and-run driver outside a Savannah hotel is asking the person responsible to come forward.

More than two weeks after her father's death, Deb Cohen Meyer used a news conference in Savannah to speak directly to the still-unidentified driver. She said: "Forgiveness is possible. But you have to take responsibility for what you've done."

Police say 72-year-old Peter J. Meyer of Quechee, Vermont, was crossing a busy road on Savannah's suburban south side when he was killed by a passing vehicle Jan. 4. Meyer had stopped in Savannah while driving to his winter home in Orchid Island, Florida.

Meyer's family and friends are offering a $100,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction in the case.
