ATLANTA (AP) - Ethics watchdog George Anderson says he's filed three new ethics complaints against Gov. Nathan Deal.
State Inspector General Deron Hicks said Wednesday he received one of the complaints and has begun a standard review of the allegations. Hicks also confirmed he's leaving his post to take a job in the private sector. The governor will be naming his replacement.
Anderson is calling for an investigation into Deal and cites lawsuits filed against the ethics commission by its former executive secretary and her assistant who claim retaliation for their work investigating complaints against the governor.
Anderson says he's also filed two new complaints with the commission.
Deal's spokesman Brian Robinson says issues raised in the complaints have been dismissed and that Anderson previously apologized to the governor for making "frivolous accusations."
