British Poet Laureate Carol Ann Duffy to do Reading at Emory

ATLANTA (AP) — A British poet laureate is scheduled to give a free reading at Emory this weekend.

The university says award-winning Scottish poet Carol Ann Duffy will give a free reading at Glenn Auditorium on the school's campus Saturday at 4 p.m. No tickets are required, but seating is limited in the auditorium.

Books will be available for purchase, and a signing event will be held immediately after the reading.

Her books of poetry include: "The Bees," published in 2011; "Rapture," published in 2005 and winner of the T.S. Eliot Prize; "Standing Female Nude," her first collection, which was published in 1985 and won the Scottish Arts Council Award; "Mean Time," published in 1993 and winner of the Whitbread Poetry Award and the Forward Poetry Prize.
