MONTROSE, Ga. (AP) - An emergency official in central Georgia says at least three people are dead following a fiery crash on Interstate 16 involving multiple cars with fog reported in the area.
Laurens County EMS Director Terry Cobb told The Associated Press on Wednesday that emergency responders were still going through the wreckage following the morning crash. He says emergency officials encountered fog on the way to the scene but could not say whether fog was a factor in crash.
Cobb says there were six vehicles on fire and there appeared to be at least two or three separate accidents involving up to 15 cars.
Joy Pope, a 911 operator with Laurens County, says emergency responders are working to extinguish a fire involving a tanker truck.
