8 arrested in Savannah prostitution sting

SAVANNAH, Ga. (AP) - Police in Savannah say eight people have been charged in an undercover prostitution sting, including one man who tried running from police and was found with crack cocaine.

Savannah-Chatham police spokesman Julian Miller said Tuesday that 42-year-old Sean Leonard Williams solicited sex from an undercover officer and sped away when other police identified themselves. Miller says Williams was arrested after a foot chase and has been charged with pandering and drug violations, among other offenses. Williams is being held without bond and it was not immediately clear if he had an attorney.

Miller says seven other women and men dressed as women were arrested and charged with pandering or prostitution in an investigation stemming from neighbors' complaints.
