FORT PAYNE, Ala. (AP) — Alabama authorities say a Georgia man is dead after a trailer being hauled by a truck overturned on top of him.
Al.com reports 56-year-old Thomas Keith of Trenton, Georgia, was killed Friday in Fort Payne. DeKalb County Sheriff Jimmy Harris says a truck driver found Keith's body beneath the toppled trailer.
Authorities say the truck driver was pulling away when he realized the trailer wasn't properly hitched to the truck. The problem caused the trailer to overturn.
Sheriff's officials say an autopsy is being performed to find out the exact cause of the man's death.
