TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - A Newnan woman has been arrested, accused of submitting false applications to get over $6,000 in food stamps and Medicaid.

Jennifer Collins was arrested on Monday for public assistance fraud.

Court documents say an investigator with the Florida Department of Financial Services found that Collins under-reported her income on applications in order to receive public assistance.

As a result, Collins collected $6,161 worth of food stamps and Medicaid benefits that she was not legally entitled to.

She was booked into the Leon County Jail but later bonded out.
