(WTXL) - If you're out celebrating the new year Monday night, there are more state troopers on the roads than usual.
Georgia State Patrol officers say they've been in travel mode and on the roads heavily since before Christmas.
Law enforcement says they'll look for people who are swerving and going in and out of lanes as well as those who are distracted from driving.
Troopers say throughout the night into Tuesday they're keeping an eye on impaired drivers, folks speeding, and those driving under the influence.
Georgia State Patrol says it's not just looking for folks under the influence of alcohol, but any substance like medications or anything that will affect your ability to drive.
