THOMASVILLE, Ga. (WTXL) - People will be heading to the polls in Georgia Tuesday to cast votes in primary runoffs.
The big race for the Republican candidate for governor is between Lieutenant Governor Casey Cagle, who is endorsed by Governor Nathan Deal, and Georgia Secretary of State Brian Kemp, who is endorsed by President Trump.
Thomas County election supervisors say that although election hacking has been in the news lately there is absolutely no concern for Georgia elections.
"I am fairly confident that as far as all the hype that you might hear on some of the media that there is really no real way to jeopardize our machines, or any way to get to them, or compromise, I think would be a better word," said Frank Scoggins, a Thomas County elections supervisor.
The winner of the Republican runoff for governor would face democrat Stacey Abrams who would be the first African-American female governor.
The general election is in November.
